Drip Irrigation

Strip Drip Irrigation Tape

Model: CZ-SD Series (16 mm)

On this tape, the emitter is a separately molded strip bonded inside the tube wall. The strip is formed as one piece — no weld seams, no burrs on the flow path — and the inlets are laser-drilled, so the openings that matter most for clogging are the most regular part of the product.

What a strip emitter is

Strip drip irrigation tape carries its emitter as a separately molded strip, bonded inside the tube wall. The flow channel and the filter windows are formed on that strip — the tube wall carries the water and the pressure, and the strip meters it out.

The strip itself is molded as a single piece: no weld seams, no burrs, no gaps on the flow path. Seams are where pressure finds a weakness and burrs are where debris finds a home, and the catalogue lists the elimination of both as a core advantage of this construction.

Because the flow channel is molded on the strip before it enters the line, its geometry is set by the tool, not by the tube-forming process. Channel depth and width stay where the mold put them — which is what keeps the flow index uniform from the first emitter on a roll to the last.

Laser-drilled inlets

The inlets are drilled by laser rather than punched. The openings come out with clean edges and a consistent size, and the drilling pitch is what sets the emitter spacing on your order.

Water passes multiple filter windows at the inner end of each emitter before it reaches the flow channel, and the turbulent channel behind them is extremely long. Inlet filtration area plus a long turbulent path is the anti-clogging design: particles are either kept outside or kept moving.

What this construction means for buyers

  • Uniform output. The catalogue rates this emitter's hydraulic performance highly — flow index high, output even — which is what a buyer sees at the far end of a lateral, not only at the head.
  • Price does not move with spacing. The strip runs continuously along the tube; spacing is the drilling pitch. A 10 cm roll and a 60 cm roll of the same wall share one base price, so mixed-spacing orders stay simple to quote and to audit.
  • Close spacing is practical. Customizable spacing down to 5 cm serves dense crops — onions, garlic, seedling beds — where wider spacing would leave dry strips between emitters.
  • Orientation is visible. Double markings run along both edges of the tape, so crews identify and orient it correctly during installation.

Pressure behaviour and lateral length

The catalogue describes the emitter as having a certain pressure compensation effect and rates the maximum laying length at 400 meters — longer runs than ordinary drip tape. In practice, discharge tapers off more gently along the run, which is what buys the extra length.

Where the ground slopes or flow must stay constant end to end, that is a job for full pressure compensation — see Pressure Compensating Drip Tape.

Wall, spacing and roll combinations

Mil values follow the catalogue as printed. Gauges without a printed bracket are converted at 25.4 micron per mil (⚠ verify against the printed catalogue; the 0.25 mm row prints 12 mil, which conflicts with the 0.3 mm row — conversion gives 10 mil). Combinations shown with a dash are completed from the printed catalogue before quotation, not guessed.

Choosing spacing and wall

Spacing is a planting decision — it follows the crop and the bed. Wall is a working-condition decision — it follows the ground, the laying equipment and the season plan.

One pattern worth reading from the table: across the main range, output per metre of line stays between roughly 4.7 and 6 L/h, and the 10 cm close-spacing row delivers about 7.5 L/h per metre for dense crops. Pick the spacing the crop needs; the per-metre duty is already set.

Crops the catalogue lists for this tape: greenhouse and tunnel beds, drip-row crops such as tomatoes, cucumbers, chilies, cauliflower, onions and grapes, tree rows and orchards, vineyards and berries, bananas, and open-field staples such as cotton.

What it does in the field

  • Saves water and labour — the catalogue positions it as the irrigation equipment behind high-quality, pollution-free vegetable and fruit production.
  • Controls surface humidity, which lowers pest pressure and fertilizer loss.
  • Keeps soil loose and prevents crusting at the bed surface.
  • Growers using this tape category report yield gains above 35 percent per mu on row crops.

Three checks before you order

  1. Bench flow at the rated value. One-minute volume per emitter on a sample from the actual batch, read against the table value for the wall and spacing you are buying.
  2. Strip bonding. The emitter strip is only as good as its bond to the tube wall. Peel a strip from a batch sample — a clean bond lifts as one piece instead of separating.
  3. Inlet hole quality. Check the laser-drilled inlets under magnification: clean edges, no burrs, and the hole pitch matches the spacing on your order.

Wholesale from the source factory

  • Tube extrusion, strip molding, drilling and quality control on one site.
  • Mixed spacings and wall gauges in one container load — spacing does not affect price, so mixed loads stay simple.
  • Customizable close spacing from 5 cm for dense-crop projects.
  • Sample rolls for bench testing before commitment.

FAQ

Why is the price not affected by emitter spacing?

The strip runs continuously inside the tube; spacing is set by the drilling pitch, not by inserting more or fewer emitters. A roll drilled at 10 cm and one drilled at 60 cm cost the same base price per metre. For buyers this means mixed-spacing container orders stay simple to quote, audit and restock.

What is the minimum order quantity, and can we test a sample roll first?

Sample rolls are available for bench testing before container commitment — run one-minute flow against the rated value, peel a strip to check the bond, and verify the drilling pitch against your order. Container orders support mixed spacings and wall gauges in one load. Contact us with your target specification for roll lengths and loading quantities.
